Industrial output prices in Romania up 15.5% y/y in April, statistics show

Industrial production prices on internal and external markets increased 1.1 percent month-on-month in April and 15.5 percent year-on-year, following hikes in the processing and extractive industry, the country's statistics body (INS) said.
Prices in the extractive industry advanced 1.5 percent in April versus March, the ones in the processing industry gained 1.2 percent and prices for electricity, heat, gas and water inched 0.1 percent.
Prices in the processing industry climbed 17.7 percent year-on-year in April and it was the most dynamic sector, followed by the extractive industry which advanced 13.2 percent. Prices for electricity, heat, gas and water increased only 2.9 percent.
Prices in the power industry hiked 17.8 percent, next to prices in the current goods industry which advanced 16 percent. Intermediary goods industry increased 14.1 percent, capital goods industry 10.7 percent and long term goods industry rose 10.1 percent.
Industrial production prices in Romania gained 1.6 percent in March against February and 14.5 percent year-on-year, Eurostat shows. The highest annual price hikes in March were registered in Lithuania (17.6 percent), Bulgaria (15.4 percent) and Romania (14.5 percent).
