Romania's national currency, the leu, dropped to 3.62 in today's opening session, reaching the same level as before the results regarding Romania's economic growth were issued, dealers said.

The leu idled around 3.62 versus the euro this morning. At 11 a.m., the national currency stood at 3.6188 – 3.6238 lei per euro.
On international markets, the U.S. dollar dropped from 1.55 to 1.56 versus the euro. At 11 a.m. Romania's hour, the euro was traded for 1.5586 U.S. dollars.
Interbank interests for overnight deposits stood at 10 – 10.5 percent per year, exceeding the monetary policy rate of 9.75 percent per year.
