Stocks listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) plunged an average 2 percent in today's opening session, on an increased liquidity, following major slips of the American bourses yesterday.

Deals today went up three-fold to 4.7 million lei (1.32 million euros), from 1.5 million lei in the previous session.
The BET index of the ten best companies on BSE dipped 2.22 percent to 5,344.98 and the BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds lost 1.97 percent to 3,980.31.
The BET-FI index assessing the five financial companies SIF fell 2.92 percent to 33,235.99 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna depreciated 2.45 percent to 12,697.20.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies on the market decreased 2.44 percent to 567.80 and the BET-NG index reflecting the evolution of the ten power companies on BSE lowered 1.33 percent o 756.76.
The bourses in the U.S. dropped significantly. The Dow Jones composite index (DJIA) plunged 2.99 percent to 11,188.23 and the S&P 500 index of the best 500 companies lost 2.99 percent to 1,236.83. Nasdaq slipped 3.2 percent to 2,259.04.
Shares of second Romanian lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) were the most liquid today, with total deals of 1.48 million lei, and fell 2.4 percent to 16.30 lei.
The fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) decreased 2.43 percent to 0.281 lei.
Financial company SIF Oltenia (SIF5) went down 2.22 percent to 1.76 lei, SIF Muntenia (SIF4) dropped 3.67 percent to 1.05 lei, SIF Moldova (SIF2) depreciated 2.38 percent to 1.64 lei and SIF Transilvania (SIF3) lost 2.22 percent to 0.88 lei.
