Romanian stocks slip at rising bell on the Bucharest Stock Exchange

Stocks listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) started the day with drops, especially on the BET-XT and BET-NG indexes and liquidity halved to 1.85 million lei.

Exchanges in the U.S. closed with significant drops yesterday. The Dow Jones (DJIA) composite index lost 2.08 percent to 11,147.44 and the S&P 500 index of the best 500 companies on the market decreased 2.28 percent to 1,244.69. Nasdaq fell 2.6 percent to 2,234.89.

The BET index of the ten best companies on the market slipped 1.47 percent to 6,194.26 and the BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds dropped 1.11 percent to 4,478.17.

The BET-FI index of the five financial companies SIFs slipped 1.28 percent to 41,797.24 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna went down 1.75 percent to 14,202.79.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies dropped 1.30 percent to 676.26 and the BET-NG index reflecting the ten power companies on BSE fell 1.1 percent to 805.41.

Fertilizer maker Azomures (AZO) was the most liquid stock this morning with deals of 476,223 lei and gained 7.09 percent to 0.755 lei.

SIF Transilvania (SIF3) fell 0.92 percent to 1.08 lei. SIF Muntenia (SIF4) cheapened 0.76 percent to 1.31 lei.

Fertilizer producer Amonil (AMO) climbed 2.88 percent to 0.075 lei.

Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) slipped 0.58 percent to 0.341 lei and the second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) dropped 2.03 percent to 19.30 lei.
