Proiectul de lege prevede acordarea unei zile lucrătoare libere pe an, părinților sau reprezentanților legali ai copilului, în vederea verificării stării de sănătate a acestuia. De această posibilitate vor beneficia și familiile cu doi copii, iar în cazul celor cu trei sau mai mulți copii, se vor acorda două zile libere pe an, consecutive sau separate, la latitudinea angajatorului.
Părinții vor avea dreptul la ziua liberă pentru îngrijirea sănătății copilului, fără obligația angajatorului de a plăti drepturile salariale aferente.
Liberul se acordă la cererea unuia dintre părinți, la alegere, respectiv a reprezentantului legal al copilului, justificat ulterior cu acte doveditoare din partea medicului de familie al copilului, din care să rezulte controlul medical efectuat. Cererea trebuie depusă cu 15 zile înainte.
Angajatorii vor fi obligați să acorde ziua lucrătoare liberă pentru îngrijirea sănătății copilului solicitată, iar prevederile legii se aplică atât angajatorilor publici, cât și celor privați.
