Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) started the day with gains and with the BET-FI index of the five investment companies (SIFs) rising 1.51 percent; European shares fell.

Opening session deals reached 8.47 million lei (2.3 million euros), up against the 4.17 million lei seen yesterday.
In America, the composite index Dow Jones (DJIA) gained 0.52 percent to 12,898.38, the S&P 500 index rose 0.40 percent to 1,408.66 and the Nasdaq index lost 0.06 percent to 2,496.7.
In Romania, the BET index measuring the ten best companies on the BSE inched 1.05 percent to 7,130.6 and the BET-C composite index tracking all listed shares minus investment funds gained 0.31 percent to 5,007.19.
The BET-FI index of the five SIFs upped 1.51 percent to 51,354.99. The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna gained 1.13 percent to 16,780.28.
Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) was the most liquid stock today within the banking area, advanced 1.19 percent, to 0.426 lei. BRD SocGen (BRD), Romania’s second lender by assets, grew 0.9 percent, to 22.30 lei.
Erste Bank (EBS) listed on the international tier of the BSE, hiked 1.51 percent to 175.10 lei. On the financial companies sector, SIF Moldova (SIF2) shares gained 1.89 percent to 2.16 lei.
SIF Muntenia (SIF4) climbed 1.24 percent to 1.63 lei while SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) upped 1.3 percent to 2.34 lei. SIF Oltenia (SIF5) nudged up 1.78 percent to 2.86 lei. SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) rose 1.3 percent, to 2.34 lei.
Power transportation company Transelectrica (TEL) hiked 2.35 percent to 26.10 lei. Romania’s No. 1 oil company Petrom (SNP) inched 0.40 percent, to 0.497 lei.
