Stocks listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) started to grow this morning after several days of losses when the BET index measuring the best companies on the market fell to the lowest since the fall of 2005.

Liquidity on the market advanced 72 percent to 2.45 million lei.
Bourses in the U.S. closed yesterday with slight gains. The Dow Jones (DJIA) composite index added 0.28 percent to 11,382.26 and the S&P 500 index measuring the best 500 companies in the U.S. gained 0.38 percent to 1,284.91. Nasdaq rose 0.52 percent to 2,304.97.
The BET index nudged up 0.74 percent to 6,346.12 and the BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds increased 0.39 percent to 4,511.06.
The BET-FI index of the five financial companies known as SIFs added 0.26 percent to 44,883.74 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna gained 0.82 percent to 14,530.24.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks rose 0.56 percent to 703.85 and the BET-NG index assessing the 10 power companies on the market increased 0.55 percent to 811.54.
SIF Moldova (SIF2) was the most liquid stock this morning generating deals of 571,317 lei and rose 1.07 percent to 1.89 followed by SIF Muntenia (SIF4) which remained unchanged at 1.39 lei, on deals of 413,545 lei.
SIF Oltenia (SIF5) remained at 2.60 lei, SIF Transilvania (SIF3) was sluggish at 1.33 lei and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) added 0.52 percent to 1.95 lei.
Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) advanced 1.37 percent to 0.37 lei on deals of 199,826.
Erste Bank (EBS), listed at the international tier of BSE and the majority owner of Romania’s largest bank by assets Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), rose 1.1 percent to 140 lei.
