Romanian stocks open with significant hikes today, liquidity slumps

Indexes on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) saw significant hikes at rising bell today following the end of the Easter holiday and the financial sector posted the highest advance.
Deals on the market lowered to 8.69 million lei from 22.6 million lei as seen last time.
Allocation rights for the Teraplast shares debuted today after completing the initial public offering for listing on the BSE. Deals with the Teraplast allocation rights (TRPR01) drew 96,000 lei at 1 leu per allocation right.
Bourses in the U.S. closed mixed on May 2. The Dow Jones composite index (DJIA) inched 0.37 to 13,058.20, the S&P 500 index upped 0.32 percent to 1,413.90 while the Nasdaq index lost 0.15 percent to 2,476.99.
The BET index measuring the ten best companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange rose 1.84 percent to 7,149.33 and the BET-C composite index tracking all listed shares minus investment funds increased 1.69 percent to 5,113.21.
The BET-FI index of the five SIFs hiked 3.89 percent to 54,535.43. The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna rose 2.33 percent to 16,791.
SIF Oltenia (SIF5) was the most liquid stock this morning generating deals of 2.13 million lei after a 2.45 percent hike to 2.93 lei, followed by SIF Moldova (SIF2) which advanced 3.52 percent to 2.35 lei.
SIF Transilvania (SIF3) nudged up the most, 5.23 percent to 1.61 lei. SIF Muntenia (SIF4) rose 3.68 percent to 1.69 lei. SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) gained 3.66 percent to 2.55 lei.
The fifth lender by assets, Banca Transilvania (TLV) upped 1.36 percent to 0.745 lei. Erste Bank (EBS) listed on the international tier of the BSE increased 3.53 percent to 176 lei.
Second lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) climbed 1.88 percent to 21.70 lei. Transgaz Medias (TGN) hiked 3.15 percent to 225.90 lei.
