Romania's leu stands at 3.63 against the euro, after a short increase in the morning

Romania's leu increased to 3.6245 against Europe's single currency in today's opening session, next to other currencies in the region and then slipped to 3.63, dealers said.

Banks sold the euro for 3.6380 lei at 11:05 a.m.

On the international markets, the U.S. dollar oscillated from 1.4640 to 1.4743 against the euro, while at 11:10 a.m. Romania’s hour, the U.S. dollar stood at 1.4711 versus the euro.

The interbank interest rates for overnight deposits stood at 8.3-8.5 percent per year, below the monetary policy interest of 9 percent per year.
