All indexes on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) inched at rising bell however liquidity dropped after the first half hour to the level seen in the previous session of only 1.69 million lei (455,771 euros), dealers said.
Bourses in the U.S. closed in the red on March 27. The Dow Jones composite index idled at 12,302 and the S&P 500 index lowered 1.15 percent to 1,325. The Nasdaq index lost 1.87 percent to 2,280.
In Romania, the BET index of the top ten companies on the market inched 0.56 percent to 6,902.92, the BET-C assessing all listed shares minus investment funds gained 0.24 percent to 4,955.82.
The BET-FI index measuring the five financial companies known as investment funds SIFs climbed 0.41 percent to 53,196.22. The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna rose 0.70 percent to 15,532.07.
Shares of SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) were the most liquid today with deals of 193,212 lei and inched 0.40 percent to 2.48 lei, followed by SIF Muntenia (SIF4) with trades of 186,622 lei and climbed 0.63 percent to 1.61 lei.
Drug maker Biofarm (BIO) gained 1.97 percent to 0.3110 lei. SIF Moldova climbed 0.42 percent to 2.41 lei.
Erste Bank (EBS), transacted at the international tier of the BSE, gained 0.75 percent to 148.30 lei.
SIF Transilvania (SIF3) and SIF Oltenia (SIF5) idled at 1.53 lei respectively 2.89 lei.
Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) dropped 0.81 percent to 0.0735 lei. Second lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) idled at 20 lei.
