Romania's leu slips to 3.68 versus the euro this morning, next to other currencies in the region

Romania's national currency, the leu, dropped from 3.6720 to 3.6760 against the single European currency in today's opening session, in line with other foreign currencies in the region, on lower interbank interests, dealers said.
Banks bought the euro with 3.6760 lei and sold it for 3.6800 lei at 11:20 a.m.
On international markets, the U.S. dollar waved around 1.5698 and 1.5740 versus the euro. At 11:20 a.m. Romania's hour, the euro traded at 1.5729 U.S. dollars.
Interbank interests for overnight deposits stood at 6.5 - 7 percent per year this morning, below the monetary policy rate of 9.75 percent per year, in the last day to create the minimum mandatory reserves for this month. Overnight interests climbed to 16 percent yesterday.
