Cum ajung tinerii să sufere de aceste boli, unele denumite până de curând bolile bătrâneții ne explică dr. Dafin Mureșanu, președintele Societății Române de Neurologie, prezent la Școala de Vară în neurologie care s-a desfășurat ieri la Eforie.
"De obicei, debutul la vârstă tânără în cazul unor afecțiuni cum este boala Parkinson se asociază cu anumite predispoziții genetice. Factorii de mediu pot favoriza și ei apariția acestor suferințe și anume expunerea la diverse substanțe chimice: pesticide, insecticide, traumatisme cerebrale, în cazul sindromului parkinsonian. Simptomele obișnuite includ: oboseală cronică, tulburări de coordonare, echilibru, sensibilitate, durere, depresie.
Practic, aproape orice simptom sau semn neurologic poate fi prezent în scleroza multiplă. Deși nicăieri nu există un tratament minune care să vindece boala, după îndelungi cercetări în domeniu, au fost create terapii care îmbunătățesc semnificativ calitatea vieții pacienților", susține medicul.
Ce trebuie făcut? Odată cu trecerea anilor trebuie eliminați factorii de risc care pot declanșa sau agrava o boală neurologică: stresul, oboseala, sedentarismul, alimentația dezechilibrată.
