Romania's leu inches to 3.58 vs. the euro, but shows depreciation trend on the U.S. dollar increase

Romania's national currency, the leu, advanced close to 3.58 against Europe's single currency in today's opening session and then started to lose ground in line with other currencies in the region, following investors' interest over the U.S. dollar. The leu was traded for 3.59 lei per euro this morning, it increased to 3.5790, but started to lose ground afterwards. Banks bought the euro with 3.5960 lei and sold it for 3.60 lei at 11:35 a.m. The Polish zloty dipped from 3.41 to 3.46 versus the euro this morning and the Hungarian forint dropped from 237.6 to 240.9 against the European currency. On international markets, the U.S. dollar climbed from 1.44 to below 1.43 versus the euro and at 11:35 a.m. Romania's hour, the euro was traded for 1.4277 U.S. dollars.
